Subject: Preventive measures to prevent fire in Drosia Tritaia
Dear Sirs,
We could not fail to fight, to support our fellow citizens affected throughout the country, after the catastrophic fires that we have all experienced, are currently experiencing.
We do not neglect the important firefighting work carried out by the State, saving human lives, businesses, etc. while planning tomorrow, which should be less painless for all of us.
After the catastrophic fire in our village (Drosia Tritaia) that burned mainly forest wealth, animal kingdom, fruit trees, we are also worried about tomorrow, when history repeats itself steadily every 20-years, where the same area was burned again.
On Sunday (07th of August), our Association walked through the
burned, appreciating the magnitude of the disaster, pondering what preventive measures could be taken, planned now for the future.
After a meeting of the Board of Directors of our Association, we propose the following as
προληπτικά μέτρα για μελλοντική πρόληψη πυρκαγιάς:
1) General maintenance of existing rural roads, opening (where necessary) of new roads, especially near agricultural businesses, residences.
2) It is imperative to construct, widen and asphalt the existing rural road that starts from our village and after the 1st ridge, reaches Kalyvia (at the junction with the bypass of the ring road 111), Kryovrysi.
We inform you that in case a fire climbs towards the 1st ridge, the chapel of Ag. Konstantinou, at an altitude of 1050 where there is a large area with rich natural wealth, fir trees, only flying means can reach there for firefighting, because for fire trucks the ascent is very difficult or impossible, due to an inappropriate road.
3) Opening of the former road, path that starts from the chapel of Ag. Athanasiou Street (location above the village), and reaches the location (Englenios), giving with this opening a new road for the passage of wheeled vehicles. We inform you that for this part of the road, path, the former "Volunteer Team" has received approval for the opening by the Forestry Department.

4) There is a need to construct two new Fire Hydrants to replenish water for the fire extinguishers at the sites,
a) On the bend at Troupes
b) at the turn located at the location (Trees), where exactly the water supply network for the former community of Stavrodromio passes.
5) Care for the garbage that floods the edges of the road we go up to the village, it is imperative to demarcate areas for the disposal of debris, large objects.
Our Association has already taken care of the collection of garbage on the side of the road from the village to the location "Elies".
6) Care to clean the abandoned plots located in the village, due to the fact that the picture that exists now, concerns us a lot.
Our Association and the President of our village have already contacted several land owners and have jointly cleaned some of them and will continue the effort.
Dear Sirs,
We are not omniscient about what preventive measures are needed, so that we do not experience new catastrophic situations in our village. The fact that some flood protection works need to be taken, to be launched (because dangerous weather events of great magnitude can occur at any time during the winter months), care not to be trespassed
goes without saying that they will be immediately launched by the competent services.
We submit to you our humble opinion, proposals, considering that the state will act immediately and will proceed with those preventive measures that must be made, to be constructed in our village.
