Last Monday, October 19, the \"Volunteer Group of Friends of Drosia\" and the President of the Community of Tsipiana, Ilia,
\nThey met (after a scheduled meeting) with Antiper. Mr. Charalambos Bonanos, to discuss and expose issues concerning our villages.<\/p>\n
The meeting took place in a good atmosphere and the central topic was the proposal for the construction of the Provincial Road: Drosia \u2013 1st ridge
\n(chapel of Ag, Konstantinos) \u2013 Tsipiana \u2013 Kryovrysi. The construction of the above very necessary provincial road must be done because:
\n1) We will have safe road access and ascent of our fellow villagers \u2013 livestock breeders who transport their animals for the summer
\nperiod on the 1st ridge from all surrounding communities. 2) We will have the safe transport of their products by road to the villages
\nand then at the points of sale.
\n3) We will have direct and brief intercommunication of the many former communities located on the two slopes of the 1st ridge belonging to the neighboring municipalities, ie. the Municipality of Erymanthos and the Municipality of Ancient Olympia.
\n4) The launch of the section \"Mountain Tourism, Mountaineering, Walking\" by the Cultural Associations of the area, utilizing a beautiful natural environment, starting from an altitude of 1035m. on the 1st ridge and reaching an altitude of over 1800m., walking down the green slopes of the massif of the well-known since antiquity mountain range of Erymanthos.
\n5) It is a developmental and very important road project that the region needs for the exploitation \u2013 promotion of the tourist potential of our villages, because nowadays it is imperative to construct projects of this size.<\/p>\n
It was also said that a relevant meeting had been held a few days ago in the Region on the same subject, in the presence of the Mayors, the
\nDeputy Mayors of neighboring Municipalities and the two Vice-Regional Governors of the Prefectures of Achaia and Ilia, etc. The Members of the \"Volunteer Team\" and the President of the Community of Tsipiana in Ilia stressed the necessity of the project, the inclusion by the Region in an NSRF Program, taking into account that there is already a preliminary study concerning the construction.<\/p>\n
The meeting ended with the joint assurance that our request would be forwarded.<\/p>\n
