Subject: Renovation of the Historic Primary School of Drosia Tritaia, Patras, its conversion into a Cultural Centre of the region.<\/p>\n
Mr. President of the Municipal Council, Mr. Mayor, &. Representatives of the Parties,
\nThe promotion of the Historical Infrastructure of a village must be among the immediate priorities of a Municipality, for a new beginning in the village, for a \"quality of life\" for the last remaining in these places and not only. The renovation of the Historic Primary School of Drosia (Prostovitsa), the first Primary School built in the Municipality of Tritaia in 1880 and its conversion into a Cultural Center of the region, is an issue that should concern us immediately.<\/p>\n
We inform you that with the renovation we can construct a Multipurpose Hall (Projection Room with Sound Coverage), construction of Showcases for the installation of a Folklore Museum, (there are already exhibits in the possession of some of our fellow villagers), and two smaller ones for the needs of the village. The above issue concerned the Volunteer Group from the very beginning, for
\nthis has already submitted a proposal to sponsors for the renovation and we specifically submitted a request for funding to the Niarchos Foundation (SNF) last summer.<\/p>\n
The negative response we received from the \"Niarchos Foundation\" (SNF) regarding the funding is due to the fact that we do not have so far any plan, study for the renovation, what costs are required, etc. which were requested from the first moment. Ie. if you provide us with a complete study for the total renovation of the Historic Primary School of our village, we will look for sponsors not only within Greece, but we will also address sponsors who live abroad.
\nThe proposal we are submitting to you is as follows:<\/p>\n
A) Preparation of the relevant study, the preliminary renovation plans with the estimated costs.
\nB) The study, the construction of the plans will include the complete renovation of the building, the conversion of the large hall into a multipurpose hall (for Projections with Audio coverage), and planned infrastructure for the reception, exhibition of materials to operate and a Folklore Museum.
\nC) The renovation of the two smaller rooms for community use, e.g. room for the Community Council and room for the operation of the Community Infirmary.
\nD) the complete renovation of the surrounding area, construction of external w.c, reconstruction of the surrounding wall. We inform you that the fence wall is currently in a bad condition, which if it collapses will carry away the School. (We have already submitted a request to you last May for the maintenance of the junkyard).
\nE) Maintenance of the existing external large concrete staircase, built in 1964, which serves for access to the School. Taking into account that during the cutting of the team's New Year's cake (February 10, 2019) where we were honored on behalf of the Region, the Deputy Regional Governor Mr. Konstantinos Karpetas, in his statement told us that projects for which the Municipality will request the assistance of the Region can be constructed,<\/p>\n
We therefore ask the Municipality to submit the request to the Region for the preparation of the relevant study, the plans, required for the renovation, in order to be prepared by the experienced services it has. Mr. President of the Municipal Council, Mr. Mayor,

When there are enough unspent European funds for infrastructure in our country, in our Municipality, When the cooperation between the Municipality, the Region and Associations can radically change the landscape, the image in a remote and abandoned Historical village, When renovations have already been made in Primary Schools of the Municipality of Erymanthos, a fact that satisfies us and we want it to continue, We expect you to take the next step, namely the immediate acceptance of our request, when nowadays, we are experiencing a great mobility in matters of renovation of Historic Buildings, infrastructure, etc. with European Funds and not only.<\/p>\n
