Subject: Inscription of the Historic Platanos in the square \"Giannia\" of our village (Drosia Tritaia, Patras), in the \"Network of Perennial Trees of the Greek Revolution\",<\/p>\n Dear Sirs, Do not neglect the fact that the promotion and conservation of these historic perennial trees until today was done with the good cooperation of the local community, its inhabitants, its dreamers, keeping the historical memory unchanged over time, as most of the time they are also a recognized landmark of this community, the village where they are located.<\/p>\n The initiative of the \"Greece 2021\" Committee to place under its auspices the Action of the \"Institute of Culture of Messinia\", \"1821-2021: Network of Perennial Trees of the Greek Revolution\", satisfies us very much because our own Historical Tree, the perennial plane tree that has a perimeter of about eight meters, in the central square of our village, is the main historical feature of cultural heritage not only of our Historical village but also of the wider area of Tritaia Patras.<\/p>\n Historians tell us that in the square under the historic plane tree the fighter \"Giannias\" killed in 1780 the Turkish kasimalis (tax collector), and then escaped to the mountains to organize the resistance against the Turks. The readership that \"Platanos\" has received so far reveals the need for its further promotion and maintenance in order to become a point of reference for tourist and historical attraction for the village.<\/p>\n We are also pleased to inform you that following a submitted request by our Municipality (Municipality of Erymanthos), and the acceptance by the \"Greece 2021\" Committee, it is planned to build a Historical & Folklore Museum in our village, for the fighter \"Giannias\" of '21, who was born here and acted in our region and other parts of the Peloponnese.<\/p>\n Dear Sirs, following our above communication,<\/p>\n Please register us for the program \"1821-2021: AND<\/p>\n We await the relevant instructions for our close cooperation on this Historical event, for the existing Ancient Trees.<\/p>\n Members of the \"Volunteer Group of Friends of Drosia\" of Tritaia, Patras Attached Photos of our Historical \"Platanos\"<\/p>\n
