The event \"Our Heroes \u2013 Yiannis and Giorgis Giannias\" was held with great success in Drosia Tritaia, on Saturday, July 16, 2022 Municipality of Erymanthos, \"Press Release\" Erymanthos: Great response of the people to the tribute \"Our Heroes - Giannis and Giorgis Giannias\"<\/p>\n

\"In the footsteps of the heroes of Prostovitsa, Kostas\/Giannis and Giorgis Giannias, the glorious Captains of '21 whose actions and achievements were associated with legends and traditions, keeping their memory unquenchable over the centuries, \"traveled\" those who were in the birthplace of \"Gianniades\" Drosia on Saturday, July 16<\/p>\n

In the event \"Our Heroes - Giannis and Giorgis Giannias\" organized by the Municipality of Erymanthos - Community of Drosia and the Cultural & Environmental Association of Drosia \"GIANNIADES\" with the support of the Region of Western Greece. On the occasion of the completion of 200 years since the Greek Revolution, thanks to the descriptive speeches of George Fotakopoulos and Vasilis Kyriazis, the role of the Yanniades in the Revolution of '21, in bravery, in exploits, but also in their inglorious end, was highlighted.<\/p>\n

The event was addressed by the Mayor of Erymanthos, Theodoros Baris, who reminded that the historical album published by the Municipality includes important information about the people of Gianniades, the president of the Community of Drosia, Dimitris Zorlas, Fr. Dimitrios Papageorgiou, representative of the Metropolitan of Patras, Mr. Chrysostomou, the secretary of the Cultural and Environmental Association of Drosia, Dimitris Dimitropoulos, who among others referred to the historical marking of the historic plane tree in Drosia, the former regional governor, Apostolos Katsifaras and the head of Citizen Protection of PASOK-Movement for Change, Marinos Skandamis.<\/p>\n

The event was accompanied by traditional dances and events with the participation of the \"Panagiotis Karatzas Historical Revival Battalion of Patras\", a dance group of the Cultural and Dance Association of Tritaia and the dance group \"the Eagles of Moria\", while the work of the Cultural Group of the 20th High School of Patras in collaboration with the Political & Environmental Syllabus was special. Drosias \"THE GIANNIADES\", presented by Professor G. Nikolopoulou and the President of the Association Dimitropoulos V.<\/p>\n

The event was also attended by the regional councilors, D. Katsikopoulos, D. Drivilas and K. Kontis, the chairman of the Board of Directors of Erymanthos, G. Kourachanis, the deputy mayors, El. Papagiannopoulos and E. Berdenis, the president of the Triteknon Mr. Sapsanis, et al.\"<\/p>\n
